- Interestingly, While some who live here may find it hard to believe, Toronto was just named one of the best cities in the world when it comes to quality of life for expatriates despite our affordability crisis and perceived decline in public services. The new ranking, courtesy of Mercer, evaluates what the consulting firm calls "the practicalities of daily life" for people temporarily immigrating to work abroad, as well as their families.Even though Toronto didn't make the top 10 list, we still placed well, coming in at 25 out of 241 locales globally.

The list is based on factors like affordability, ease of integration into the community, and availability of essential services, along with other variables.

Information was gathered from 439 Canadian cities with a population of 10,000 or more.

The ranking is based on people who arrived in Canada within the last five years. Since Canada is a huge country, the situation varies from one province to another.
